Who are we?

The Jeugddeelnamefonds (Youth Participation Fund, or JDFA) believes that every child should be able to participate in activities that develop their interests and talents, make new friends, and stay active and healthy – even those from families with limited means. Therefore, the JDFA provides contributions towards the membership fees for these families. Our mission is to enable as many children as possible to join a participating club, association or cultural institution.

remuneration policy

The JDFA board members do not receive remuneration or compensation for their administrative duties. Consultants who assess applications and liaise with intermediaries and institutions receive a fee based on volunteer standards.

This is how the JDFA works

Step 1: Contact an intermediary

For example, a teacher at school, the Serviceplein of the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, Participe, Tomindebuurt, a neighbourhood contact person, or a sports neighbourhood worker.

Step 2: Application

Let them know which cultural or sports activity your child would like to do. They will then submit an application to the JDFA on your behalf. You cannot do this yourself.

Step 3: Assessment

A JDFA consultant will review the application. If approved, they will inform the relevant club of your child’s name.

Step 4: Register your child

All you need to do now is register your child. We will pay the contribution directly to the participating club, association or cultural institution.
